Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

we have been coming for years, but lately the margaritas suck. they are super syrupy and the menu prices don't materialize on the bill. the food is hit or miss for me, but my husband loves the mexican style steak tacos. the rice has been consistently bad and the service is inconsistent. the servers get crabby if you come in close to closing.

Not wowed. Sticky carpeted floor. Distracted service- had to ask for chips and salsa which they brought out with the meal. Disappointing mole sauce. Bland salsa but main dishes were good. Drive north into Mukwonago - there's a better Mexican restaurant off ES on the left in town.

Over priced. New to area but stopped on a Monday night and ordered the special. Fajita Burrito for$12 with rice and beans. I had a comparable burrito in Elkhorn for half the price. It was not bad but with a bottle of beer and tip it was $20. East Troy has many better dining options. This meal would have been more accuratly priced at about $8. With all the options available in this fine little town this place would be on the bottom of my list. I will try it again in a month or so to be fair.

I have experienced much better, I should have passed on this place but thought I might get lucky. Great Service though and the prices are in line for the quality and quantity of food.

Little place with huge food. Excellent portions, very fresh ingredients and all authentic. A place to go to get away from your everyday Mexican favorites.

Only giving it two stars because of the atmosphere and the polite employees. However, the food was tasteless. We sampled about everything they had...tostadas, chimichangas, burritos, etc...They all tasted the same; like slop. No crunchiness to the shells and the lettuce could have came from the trash bin from the pizza place next door for all I know. Was very disappointed with this place.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! After one person in our group requested to speak to the manager after his food was unacceptable, the manager would not come over until I specifically asked if he was the manager after he stuck his head out of the kitchen door. He then began to with the person that the food was acceptable and he should have read the menu better. While this is going on, I witness the other waitress handle the garbage can and then go directly back to handling food items. The margaritas were terrible. All of the food was too spicy. They ran out of chips. Apparently under new ownership means that this place has significantly gone down hill. We have decided on a new name for this establishment "Gross Amoebas"!

What happened to my favorite place ? Went in about 7:30/8 on a Saturday night. A nice smiling teen boy brought bad stale old gross chips. But despite asking - we never got a menu or a waitress ? Place mostly empty and 2 waitresses chatting endlessly at counter. Asked one to come by. "In a minute" while she kept chatting and 20 min later my friend insisted we leave. Add in that everything was sticky and dirty - even bathroom. I hope the owners or managers come back and clean up the place and the service and the chips !! I've been bringing people here for years - telling everyone how great it is but this was just embarrassing. Especially because it was for my Birthday and believe it or not - I actually insisted we go to this once Awesome place. But sadly I couldn't even get a drink or place an order !!!!

I have been here a few times and had high hopes each time as a friend recommended this place. the food is not terrible but it definitely does not warrant the price they charge. my issue is with the poor service. I went here at 700 at night and it still took 10 minutes just to get a soda. the waitress never came back to check on me and I had to ask for my bill. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Very disappointed... This has been our go to Mexican restaurant for awhile now, but our last two visits have made us decide to try new places. We asked if they were under new management and we were told they are not. The salsa had very little flavor, and tasted like it came out of a jar. The chips were very bland as well. The rice and beans had no seasonings, and the service left something to be desired. I would not recommend Dos Amigos.
